In the last two decades of 21st century, Bioinformatics has globally emerged as the fastest growing branch of science. Bioinformatics is the amalgamation of computer science, information technology, statistical science, chemical science, etc., to develop user friendly tools and software for solving almost impossible assignments and problems of biological sciences. In recent years, boom in big data of biological world and cloud computing technologies have given major impetus to bioinformatics. I welcome you all to the department. From the Pen Of Director

About Us

The centre is established in Dec, 2011 and is one of the fastest developing wings of the University and plays a lead role in the region as far as Life Science is concerned. The centre offers Ph.D. and Masters programme in Bioinformatics apart from other paid training programs (diploma course, studentship and traineeship) in Bioinformatics. The centre boasts about its state-of-the-art infrastructure and laboratory facilities. Bridging the Biologist-Computational Interface gap will remain ever the focus of the centre.

This centre is the most momentous wing of faculty of life sciences as the coming years of biological science research and development are almost impossible without bioinformatics’ tools.
